She was supposed to. The real problem is even if she sweeps she should still be behind in points which means that they will turn to the super delegates and in the end, they will BUSH Obama out of the nomination.

Anonymous said...

Damon
lol... the hidden subtext is that you don't really believe Bush should have been president based on the outcome of the election. is that true?

Anonymous said...

I thought Obama would at least take Texas. But like he said on all the morning shows... he closed the gap. And that counts. He did win the Texas Caucuses so he will get more delegates

Anonymous said...

I don't understand that either. Thought Obama had that in the bag!

Anonymous said...

Milk Man

Kerry was just a screw up and blew it all on his lonesome.

Never. In fact, it was never suppose to be close. She always had those two spots by a landslide the really really big problem for him now is, to date she has won ALL the major key states. Therefore, with that said they are saying she technically has a bigger right to the nomination than he will. Sorry for you corporate people but they are gonna fuck Obama before it’s over.

Anonymous said...

If he loses it won't surprise me at all. Politics as usual. And McCain will be our next Commander in Chief.

Anonymous said...

I said before any of the primaries started your next president would be whatever white man the republicans nominated. Though admittedly I did think, it would be Romney but McCain was always my 2nd choice.

Anonymous said...

Agreed. I suspect Damon is right, the party establishment will use the super delegates to thwart the result that would otherwise be achieved by the elected and pledged delegates. However, if they do that, and Clinton wins the nomination, she won't win in November. My only hope is that they realize Obama is more electable vs. McCain. Hell, if it were McCain vs. Clinton, I would probably vote for McCain. I would have voted for him vs. Gore, if he had not botched up South Carolina in 2000.

Anonymous said...

I’ll tell you right now that I’ll vote for him over Hillary, no if’s ands or butts about it and I think the democratic party is too stupid to realize Obama is more electable than Hillary. They will be blinded by the fact that she won the big states and he didn’t.

Anonymous said...

And the super delegates voting for Clinton will probably go against the voice of the people that they used to govern. I do agree that Obama is more favorable against McCain. If Clinton wins, it's a wrap because some Democrats will not fully support her, as Republicans do their own, and there is also the issue with Democratic voters who simply won't vote at all, or if so, not for her. IF those same folks who praise Obama actually came out, and supported Hil IF she won, then maaaaybe it would be a different story. But it ain't happening. Hell a few of you said you'd vote McCain over her. As T.O. would say, "time to break out yo popcorn”.

Anonymous said...

Damon

Why would you vote for McCain over Hilary?

Hilary and Obamas politics are really close. They just differ in heathcare. I dont like Hilary at all but Im definitly not gonna vote McCain.

Anonymous said...

Milk Man

Truth be told, if you are voting on experience McCain would be the choice over both of them
But for 1 I am totally against the same 2 families running the country for 28 years, 1 strike against hillary

I am not interested at seeing Bill back in the chain of command, strike 2 against Hillary
Like it or not there are quite a few military decisions that will need to be made in the years to come and I don’t trust her judgment in that department what so ever, same thing I had against gore when he ran and against bill when he was in office. That is like 50 strikes against her
and like others have mentioned. The democrats do not stick together through thick or thin like the republicans. So just because she may have some good ideas on paper does not mean we will ever see them come to light.

Anonymous said...

Have I ever mentioned that I don't respect her? Can’t exactly say why. Just never had any respect for her. Can’t vote for somebody I don’t respect.

Question
Many of the people on this conversation, and definitely many of those around the country, want, and are voting for a change. Change of the guard. Change of the way things are done, this that and the third with Hillary representing the possibility of two families sitting in the oval office for 28 years, where is the change in that?

Anonymous said...

Actually Hillary will make change and hopefully change it back to the way things were when they were GOOD when Bill was in office. Bill Clinton was all for the electric car, if his wife is the same then they are good in my book. If we finished where we left off with the electric car when Bill left office then how much would we care that gas is $3.45/gallon and Oil Barrels topped $100.

Let's be real like I said before, the only problem that Hillary has is the 2 breasts she walks with everyday. If she was a man she would get A LOT more support. There are too many in america that are "traditionalists" alas the man does all the work while the wife is home bearfoot and pregnant and speaks when spoken to. Some women are traditionalists too. I think Hillary in office would make a monumental step forward in overall rights for woman internationally where they can be perceived as having the same respect level as their penal carrying counterparts.

McCain is just too old for me, I dont even think he believes what he's saying, he smerks WAY too much for me about serious issues like Bush does. This is a clear sign that you are not the authority in your own decisions.

FACE aka Sheep Herder said...

As much as I like and believe Obama is genuine and really wants change, I dont feel he has any plans worth talking about. He's all fluff. His speeches are reminiscent of Dr. Martin Luther King's. He draws on your emotions and never outlines how he plans to do the things he says he wants to do. I guess Texas and Ohio finally woke up out of the feel good, dream like state Obama has hypnotized us all (not me of course) into.

Sorry guys, dont let your emotions get the best of you. It wil take a good plan to turn things around, not just good intentions.

And Im ooooouuuutttttt.

FACE aka Sheep Herder said...

No offense Damon, but both your comment that we cat have change with two families being in the oval office for 28 years.....You are going to have to start thinking your own thoughts and stop regurgitating the opinions of CNN annalist. Secondly as far as change goes, I wouldnt mind changing right back to the 8 years of the clintons. So if things went right back to the 90's Id be a happy man. Fuck new change, when old change was good as could be.

Secondly you comment about not respecting Hillary is silly. You dont respect her, yet you dont know why? How you not going to know why you dont respect someone? Hmmmm, maybe you dont know why because you havent stolen the opinion of a CNN annalist yet to form your opinion.

Come on man. Be a sheep herder, not a sheep.

You are really blind to the obvious. A lot of people just plain don’t like Hillary. It has nothing to do with if she is a woman or not. Just like a lot of people, do not like gore. They have very unlikeable personalities.

Anonymous said...

Yea, I just don't like Hillary. She comes off as very, very insincere and her "stories" about "oh I met this poor woman on the campaign trail...." seem to be very contrived.

Anonymous said...

I agree. She seems as untrustworthy as Bush. But if she wins, the only other option is McCain. And he is being endorsed by Bush.

I don’t even want to vote if it comes down to that. :(

I AM GVG® said...

And that was what I was waiting for. You have just heard the popular American democratic voice. That’s the problem with this primary as it was with so many other democratic primaries of years past, the fighting gets so nasty and bitter that it divides and disillusions the party and in turn the voters tune out and don’t vote at ALL. That’s exactly what the republican party is hoping for and we’re playing right into their hands once again!!!

Anonymous said...

Danielle

hah! and thats exactly why McCain will win, IF Hill goes against him. many like u won't vote at all.

Anonymous said...

Never thought it was that deep. But I guess I'm here just lookin at the issues and not gossip from CNN or her body tone when she gives speeches. Barrack though, I think his attacks on Hillary back-fired in a big way, if he's gonna be about change then he shouldnt play their game. It was a waste of time and money for those mailings to go out sh*ttin on her universal health care. How many candidates are gonna have to lose for them to realize that dirty campaigning does not help your cause at all.

Anonymous said...

Yep, I guess so, then I will have to go live in Italy.

Dayum you Americans and your politics!!!

Anonymous said...

I'm feeling the same way about my vote. We'll see what happens...

And Abasi, it is not about CNN gossip. I read, watch and formed my own personal opinions. I am watching her and Obama on tv and judging them the same way I would a client. She comes off insincere.

Anonymous said...

Actually dirty campaigning has helped historically. Many Americans saaaay they don't like negative campaign adds, but they feed right into it. These idiots want to put the President on some God like pedestal, as if he has to be perfect, thus all the little swipes here and there. It works!!! Buuuuut you have to know how to play the game for it to help assist.

You want her to "really" care about you like a boss should an employee. Does she truly care about each and every one of us? Hell no. But it's all business!! Nothing more, nothing less. Bottom line is, can she get the job done IF need be?

I hear what yall are saying but it really makes no sense for people to feel so passionately against someone who is only in her second term as a senator. I really think if she was not a woman she would be viewed differently. Its just like in the office if a woman is stern then she is a cold-blooded heartless b*tch that would eat her own kids if she was starving. NOOOO, she's just trying to get things done efficiently. But I dont blame any of you, I blame the media, women are so second fiddle everywhere. When was even the last time a female rap artist came on the scene, someone say Lil Mo and I will SMACK YOU.

2 years ago the board of HP(Hewlett-Packard) made a concerted effort in unison to fire their female CEO. HP has not made any progress since then. If she wasnt a woman, would they have made that much of an effort to get her canned??

Anonymous said...

Well say what you all want, but NO way it's this close if Hill was a white male. Sorry. Cold or not, he would have beaten Obama.

Anonymous said...

Abasi

Wait just a sec.

People should feel passionately about this, it your, our livelihoods we are talking about. If don't feel passionate about your livelihood, you must be in a coma. It has absolutely nothing, at least for me, that Hillary is a woman. Shyt, I'm a woman. I don't blame the media -- they are only reporting the facts to best suit the current state of affairs.

Carly Fiorina got fired because she fked up the Compaq merger. Not because she was a woman. Just like the dyckhead MAN head of CircuitCity is about to be out the door. You can't fk up in business like that, ESPECIALLY if you are a woman. Carly was too busy trying to be a superstar on the speaking circuit instead of making the best decisions for the stockholders because that is all that matters in a publicly traded company.

Anonymous said...

you cant fault the man for his party sticking together. if the democrats could do that bush might never have been in office in the first place

not to mention, many republicans dont like the guy. he is almost republican in name only.

I AM GVG® said...

Abasi

he was NEVER suppose to win texas or ohio though. she was suppose to win 2 to 1 actually.

Anonymous said...

That a bad analogy Dave. No she should not care about me individually, but she SHOULD care in principle. Your boss hires you. We are hiring her to represent us. so yes on many levels I do feel she needs to care, just as much as I want to know she can get the job done if need be. I don’t think she can do either.

Anonymous said...

Carm - Almost everytime a company merges especially in technology it is a failed merger. Only Adobe did it RIGHT with its acquisition of Macromedia. She didnt need to get OUSTED, they all voted for the merger it wasnt her decision alone although I was against it myself. They are still trying to get over that debacle. This is why i really hope that M$ does not get Yahoo.

I am passionate when the innocent rights of others are taken advantage of regardless of who makes it. We are not in the same boat as former factory workers in alabama who need the economy to pick up because they have no other option to bring in income and better their livelihoods. Per Danielle's request to bring closure to this discussion I will say that I feel Barrack winning would be big for the US but Hillary winning will be bigger internationally.

Being independent i get to play both sides, so I'll leave yall with this:

Dear Friend,

Last night, we did it. We won the Republican nomination for President. It was a long, up and down journey, but we worked hard, spoke honestly to the American people, and our steadfast determination has paid off.

As we come to the end of our party's primary contest, we begin what will certainly be a spirited and hard-fought campaign against the Democratic nominee. In November, Americans will have a clear choice to make. And I intend to fight as hard as I can to make it very clear that I am the candidate with the experience and leadership to serve as our commander in chief from day one.
My friends, I write to you today because I know we have a great challenge ahead of us. This campaign will be more expensive than any other in our history and I ask you today to support my campaign by making a generous contribution of $50, $100, $250, $500 or $1,000.

As president, I intend to reduce the size of the federal government, reduce your tax burden and win the war against Islamic extremists. My Democratic opponents will increase the size of the federal government, raise your taxes and withdraw our troops from the front lines based on an arbitrary timeline.

I have said before that this election will be about big things, not small things. And as president, I will make the hard but necessary decisions to lead our country in solving our greatest challenges. Today, we must unite as we face either Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama in November. I ask that you join me today and make a financial commitment to help our campaign replenish our resources.

I thank you for your support and look forward to the campaign that lies ahead of us.
Sincerely,

John McCain

P.S. My friends, now that I have secured enough delegates to be the Republican nominee for president, I ask that you support my campaign by making a contribution right away to replenish our campaign funds. As we end our primary contest and begin what will be a competitive general election against the Democratic nominee, I stand ready to lead our nation as we face great challenges, and it is my hope that you will join my campaign today. Thank you.

How many Senators or Representatives do you think truly care? And how many "act" as if they do to pacify the public who sooo wants to believe they do? It's all a game man. Like I said, it's business.

Anonymous said...

Abasi

are you forgetting her 8 years in office as first lady, and all the years in office as governors wife. she has been very active in office as long as bill has been in office, much longer than her 2 years where she held her OWN office

and all those other stories mean nothing. its a personality thing. some people have it, some dont. the way she comes off has nothing to do with the media. and the fact is she comes accross to many as an uncaring fake bitch.

Anonymous said...

Dave

your absolutely right. it is all a game. and hell no i dont think they care like that for real. but they are atleast smart enough, or talented enough to fake like they do long enough to get elected.
thats why we had that long drawn out day about them pictures you sent out. so obama could seem caring and what not.

I AM GVG® said...

Damon

true indeed. hell Obama's azz could prolly be fake as all hell, but he sure "seems" like he cares. yes, Hil is that cold boss of a bytch we all hate. oh well, we'll see. Either way this is all great television.

you never answered my question. what change does hillary getting elected represent. and if you think she is gonna be a repeat of her husbands presidency your playing yourself

Anonymous said...

Clearly you don't know very much about Fiorina's situation at HP. The merger was her brainchild, her baby, and she hitched her wagon to it the same way McCain has hitched his to Iraq. You can argue until the cows come home whether or not it was necessary or a good idea, but there is no denying that she botched it up just about as bad as anyone possibly could. HP used to perennially be one of the 100 best companies to work for. Morale was high, competence was through the roof. By the time she got done, most of their best engineers were gone, morale was in the toilet, and the merger was a disaster. There are plenty of successful tech acquisitions (because there really is no such thing in the business world as a merger of equals), but you may not know about them because they don't get the press. Cisco is largely formed of acquisitions. Oracle has had quite a few as well, and is picking up steam. Even Microsoft has a substantial portion of their company that was acquired, and not built at home.

Anonymous said...

Abasi please... don't pretend that you don't understand that regardless of board decisions, it was still Carly's job to make it work. She needed to be ousted.

Why did you say that Hillary winning would be better internationally? I have already heard sentiment from the global community support Obama...

Damon you are right... anyone thinking having Hillary in office is going to be a repeat of the Bill Clinton years is stuck in the 90s.

Anonymous said...

Milk- No, she was the lead because she was the face of the company. It was barely voted for though, I remember that and I think they needed a second vote to even pass it through. So there was already significant opposition to it from the start. But the whole point I was saying is that if she was a dude then she wouldnt have gotten ousted. The worse merger in history AOLTW, at least they were forced to step down, they didnt have Levin's and Case's office in boxes already.

Carm- By default whoever is in office is gonna make a change regardless, I dont think that she is gonna make as much of a change as Barrack could. They both agree on alot.

Anonymous said...

Abasi

I don't think it is about "agreeing" on a lot, but moreso HOW Obama will lead the changes.... (coalition vs. solo approach)
