WE THE PEOPLE...

... WILL NO LONGER SIT QUIETLY.

I REALLY WANT TO TAKE CREDIT FOR THE SHARING OF THIS GENIUS, BUT ALL CREDIT HAS TO GO TO ISIS FOR SENDING THIS TO ME! I LOVE HER AND SO SHOULD YOU!

Ok, so I’m sure most of you have seen or at least heard about the first part of the Boondocks episode entitled "Hunger strike" that was never aired because of serious threats by BET, but leaked to the internet. Guess they don’t like having their business out in the streets, just our dirty laundry. Anyway, for those who haven’t had the pleasure or know nothing of the genius I speak of, below is the first part of the “Hunger Strike” episode and below that is the second unaired part of the episode. ENJOY and pass it on to a friend.

The Boondocks "The Hunger Strike" (Part 1 of 2)

The Boondocks "The Hunger Strike" (Part 2 of 2)

P.S. I have a lot of friends at BET (past and present) and I hear this is right on the nose if not nicer to how bad they really are. All those people really do work (past and present) at BET. If you see them on the street feel free to tell them about themselves.

To say that this skit is genius is really stretching it. It was entertaining but VERY annoying that the n word is used. Why don't you address that.

What’s there to address that hasn’t been written or said by everyone is was a fan of the show from day one. This season is widely agreed to have gone more to being the personification of the shows, actions, and stereotypes it was so genius at satirizing. However, the truth of the matter is for the story it is telling in this one episode it plays to the merits of the story. I’ve had numerous discussions with staff at BET and it was made very clear by most of them that this is a true characterization of the network. I’m sure in your daily outing you encountered the youth members of the “BET GENERATION” and are not overly aware of the way in which they speak. This is not 92 where everyone was running around calling each other brother and sister. This is the reality of the people he is satirizing.

In all the episodes that have aired this season this is the ONLY one I have found amusing enough to post. It is because it has a very very relevant understory, maybe not so under, but BET is evil and is directly responsible for furthering the destruction of our communities through the perpetuation of these horrible images of us as a people that they continue to produce and air. I admit that this episode would have been considerably more impactful as just the initial 10 min opening segment that had first aired. The addition of the rest of the episode probably went from it standing firmly on the side of civil satire to then cross over to more of a bad stereotypical BET produced show itself. However, on just those first 10 mins I will allow the rest to slide and still hold it highly as I did when I first posted the clips.

Okay......point well taken. I wasn't trying to start an arguement. I read your blog and I don't remember you ever addressing it.

Never an arguement, always a discussion. I appreciate you calling me on it. I hadn't spoken to the topic other than a brief mention on the change in direction i noticed when the first episode of this second season aired the same night as the VH1 Hip Hop Honors show - http://iamgvg.blogspot.com/2007/10/boondocks-n-hip-hop-honors-both-wasnt.html
